Fair Anita has been partnering with women in Egypt since 2015. Because fair trade is a small movement in Egypt, our artisan partners have been leading the movement in their country since 1998.  We chose to partner with this cooperative because of their critical role in creating fair trade work in Egypt, and because of their exceptional quality of craftswomanship. 

These artisans, a group of 35 women and 2 men, make traditional Ferka scarves on a wooden hand machine called “noel.”  It takes a full day to weave one scarf, each one an artistic masterpiece!
